Abstract:
Provided are an apparatus and a method for evaluating embrittlement by measuring a force applied to a specimen while simulating a situation similar to a wound state on the specimen. The apparatus for evaluating embrittlement of the present invention comprises: a jig unit; a driving unit; and a measurement and analysis unit. The jig unit comprises: two jigs; a press plate; and guides. The jigs are placed so that the specimen is arranged along a longitudinal direction on an upper surface thereof formed in a horizontal plane, and the jigs face each other so as to form a spacing having a width that gradually decreases from the upper surface thereof toward the bottom thereof. The press plate is provided orthogonally to the longitudinal direction of the specimen above the jigs and is lowered while pressing the specimen to be inserted into the spacing to cause the specimen to be bent. The guides are positioned on the upper surface of each of the jigs and prevent the specimen from being twisted when the press plate is lowered. The driving unit lowers the press plate. The measurement and analysis unit measures a force applied to the specimen while the press plate moves downward, and evaluates the embrittlement therefrom.
