Abstract:
The present invention relates to a temperature compensation apparatus and method, belonging to the technical field of communications, and particularly relates to an apparatus and method for realising bilinear temperature compensation of an array waveguide grating. The present invention is composed of two drivers. A first driver performs linear compensation in a range lower than ambient temperature 25℃ to -40 ℃ (low-temperature area) or a range higher than ambient temperature 25℃ to 85 ℃ (high-temperature area), and a second driver is used for realising the non-linear compensation of a superimposed effect of a wavelength/temperature of an AWG chip in another temperature area. As such, two parts of the chip after being divided have different relative displacement/effect compensation amounts in different temperature ranges, having overcompensation in the high-temperature area and having undercompensation in the low-temperature area, so that a centre wavelength of the AWG chip presents two gentle curves with temperature change. The residual non-linear temperature effect can be effectively reduced.
