Abstract:

An applicator for hair is used to comb out the hair by a comb section, having a comb member and a porous application body placed next to the comb member, and to apply an application liquid in a container, attached to the comb section, to the hair through the application body. The porous application body of the applicator has a porosity (Vd) in the range of 70 - 85%. The applicator for hair and the cosmetic container with the applicator have no leakage of the application liquid and supply the liquid appropriately, and in addition, they can secure sufficient application ability without the liquid coming in direct contact with the scalp. The porosity is expressed as Vd = &lcub 1 - (w/(&rgr sh))&rcub × 100, with w being the mass, s the cross-section area, &rgr the average density, h the length, respectively, of the porous application body.
