Abstract:

[Problem] To reduce the circulated amount of unreacted material while suppressing excessive increase in temperature in a hydrogenation reaction in an aromatic compound hydrogenation system. [Solution] A hydrogenation system (1) is provided with a hydrogenation reaction device (2) for adding hydrogen to an aromatic compound by a hydrogenation reaction and generating a hydrogenated aromatic compound, a separating device (3) for separating the hydrogenated aromatic compound from a product of the hydrogenation reaction device, and a transport device (4) for circulating at least a portion of a residue from which the hydrogenated aromatic compound has been separated by the separating device to the hydrogenation reaction device, hydrogen supplied to the hydrogenation reaction device being diluted hydrogen diluted by a dilution compound comprising a compound having a molar specific heat greater than that of nitrogen, and at least a portion of methane being circulated to the hydrogenation reaction device as a residue.
