Disclosed is a barrier gate capable of raising and lowering a gate bar manually during a power failure, comprising a frame (5), an electric motor (8) and a reduction gearbox (7) which are fixed on the frame (5), a gate bar (1) and a crank-arm linkage mechanism. The electric motor (8) is connected to the reduction gearbox (7). The reduction gearbox (7) is connected to the crank-arm linkage mechanism. The crank-arm linkage mechanism comprises a driving crank-arm (6) with one end being articulated to the reduction gearbox (7). The other end of the driving crank-arm (6) is articulated to one end of a driven crank-arm (3) via a linkage (4). The other end of the driven crank-arm (3) is articulated to a swing rod shaft (2). The crank-arm linkage mechanism drives the gate bar (1) to swing by means of the swing rod shaft (2). When the gate bar (1) is horizontal, the included angle between the axis of the driving crank-arm (6) and the axis of the linkage (4) is not equal to 180 degrees. When the gate bar (1) is vertical, the included angle is greater than 0 degrees, whereby the gate bar (1) can be raised and lowered manually during a power failure.
