Abstract:
A battery power supply device is provided with a battery block in which a plurality of series circuits each comprising a secondary battery and a cutoff element which can get into a cutoff state in which a charge/discharge path for the secondary battery is cut off are connected in parallel, a current limit value setting unit for setting the current limit value indicating the upper limit of the permissible value of the overall current value that is the current value of a current flowing through the battery block, and a number-of-effective-batteries detection unit for detecting, as the number of effective batteries, the number of cutoff elements that are not in the cutoff state among the plurality of cutoff elements included in the battery block, the current limit value setting unit setting the current limit value such that the current limit value becomes smaller as the number of effective batteries detected by the number-of-effective-batteries detection unit decreases.
