Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless communications system may support techniques for beam selection in aperiodic reference signals. For example, a user equipment (UE) may receive a control message scheduling aperiodic reference signal (s) in two channel measurement resource (CMR) sets. In some cases, the UE may receive the first aperiodic reference signal via the first CMR set using a first TCI state and the second aperiodic reference signal via the second CMR using a second TCI state. In some cases, the TCI states may be mapped to a TCI codepoint indicated in the control message. Alternatively, the TCI states may be associated with a downlink signal that overlaps with the CMR sets. In some cases, the first TCI state and the second TCI state may be the same and may be associated with the downlink signal that overlaps with the CMR sets.
