Abstract:
In thin-film devices used for analysis of biopolymers, the thin film is ruptured by a potential difference between solutions to either side of the thin film. This device has: a thin film; a first solution contacting a first surface of the thin film; a second solution contacting a second surface of the thin film; a potential difference adjustment means for adjusting to a small value the potential difference between the first solution and the second solution; a control unit for controlling the potential difference adjustment means; a biopolymer introduction port for introduction of a biopolymer into at least either the first solution or the second solution; a first electrode placed in the first solution; a second electrode placed in the second solution; and an ammeter with which the biopolymer is passed between the first solution and the second solution through a hole made in the thin film, in order to measure electrical current flowing between the first electrode and the second electrode.
