Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a circularly polarizing plate that exhibits sufficient antistatic performance and an image display device comprising the circularly polarizing plate, the circularly polarizing plate not easily causing corrosion of a component such as a metal electrode of an image display element and being such that a decrease in polarization characteristics in a hot and humid environment does not easily occur. [Solution] Provided is a circularly polarizing plate comprising the following in this order: a linear polarizing plate (1); a first adhesive layer (10); a phase difference layer structure (2) including at least one phase difference layer; and a second adhesive layer (20) having a thickness of less than 150 µm, wherein the linear polarizing plate (1) comprises a linear polarizer that is a liquid crystal cured layer, the phase difference layer is a liquid crystal cured layer, the first adhesive layer (10) contains an antistatic agent, the second adhesive layer (20) substantially does not contain an antistatic agent, and the content of antistatic agent in the second adhesive layer as measured after the circularly polarizing plate has been stored for 250 hours in an environment having a temperature of 85ºC and a relative humidity of 85% RH is 0.2 mass% or less in 100 mass% of the second adhesive layer. Also provided is an image display device containing the circularly polarizing plate.
