Abstract:
Provided is a closed rearing method and a closed rearing apparatus with which it is possible to decompose and remove ammonia contained in rearing water without supplying an excessive amount of ozone and with which it is also possible to suppress the generation of toxic oxidants. In a closed rearing method for aquatic organisms and marine animals involving ozone treatment that decomposes ammonia in rearing water by supplying gas containing ozone into the rearing water, the closed rearing method is characterized in that aquaculture is performed in a closed environment by means of a first step for determining an aquaculture-water ozone concentration and pH condition that are suitable for reducing the amount of hazardous oxidant generation by treating, in advance, the rearing water to reduce ammonia contained therein to a target value by using an apparatus that actually applies the treatment and a second step for applying ozone treatment to the rearing water in accordance with the suitable ozone concentration and pH condition determined in the first step.
