The present invention relates to a composition or like comprising a TWIST1 inhibitor as an active ingredient, for improving the maturity of a renal organoid. The present inventors confirmed that TWIST1 expressed specifically in nerve cells and neuroglial cells inhibits appropriate differentiation of a renal organoid, and that a TWIST1 inhibitor not only reduces non-target cells without a change in the total number of podocytes and tube morphology in the renal organoid, but also decreases expression of a non-target cell marker. Therefore, by preparing a renal organoid with improved maturity by using the composition according to the present invention, it is expected to be useful for disease modeling, drug screening, regenerative medicine, and the like.
