Abstract:
Provided is a curtain airbag suited for a track type vehicle having a front pillar,
such as a pickup track or a SUV of the type, in which the front pillar is disposed
to rise at a sharp angle with respect to a horizontal direction so that the front
pillar can be clearly discriminated from a roof side rail. The curtain airbag
can protect, when abruptly expanded, the head portion or the like of a passenger,
and can prevent the passenger reliably from being thrown out from the vehicle.
Of a plurality of tabs (T1 to T8) formed to attach the curtain airbag (10) to the
roof side rail (3), the #1 tab (T1) positioned closest to the front pillar (2) is
arranged near the upper portion of the front pillar (2). A tension chamber (C1)
is arranged outside of a protection area (PA) of the curtain airbag (10) expanded,
and below the #1 tab (T1), and an end duct (22) is arranged between the #1 tab (T1)
and the tension chamber (C1).
