Abstract:

Provided is a cutting apparatus (10) provided with: a processed item fixing jig (2) for supporting a processed item (1), the processed item fixing jig (2) being rotated by operation of a rotary drive means (3) and rotating the processed item (1) while fixing the same; the rotary drive means (3) configured to drive and rotate the processed item fixing jig (2); support means (4a to 4c) for supporting the processed item (1) while being rotated in accordance with the rotation of the processed item fixing jig (2); cutter knives (5a, 5b) configured to cut the rotating processed item (1) at least at the ends of the processed item (1) in the axial direction; and a sliding means (6) for sliding the cutter knives. The cutting apparatus (10), despite its simple apparatus structure, can perform cutting without producing cuttings, with small dimensional variations, and with high cut-plane flatness.
