Abstract:
Appropriate lifespan management is carried out for consumable articles having a plurality of types. A developing cartridge is provided with a developing roller and a development memory. The development memory has: a first development storage region, where development identification information which identifies specific types from among a plurality of types of developing cartridges is stored; and a second development storage region, where at least one of a development cumulative printed page count printed by using the developing cartridge, a cumulative developing roller number of rotations, and a cumulative dot count is stored. The developing cartridge can determine whether the lifespan of the developing cartridge has been reached by using: at least one of the development cumulative printed page count which represents a maximum page count for printing corresponding to the development identification information, the cumulative developing roller number of rotations, and a maximum dot count representing a maximum number of dots that can be printed; and at least one of the development cumulative printed page count, development roller number of rotations, and cumulative dot count stored in the second development storage region (S15-S17).
