Provided is a voltage-type device for killing microorganisms that exhibits a high microorganism killing effect and in which scale is unlikely to block through holes of electrodes. The device for killing microorganisms is characterized by comprising: a main body in which liquid to be treated flows in from one end and flows out from the other end;counter electrodes that are arranged within the main body so as to be parallel to the flow of the liquid to be treated, and that have through holes facing each other; and a voltage source that connects an anode to one of the counter electrodes and connects a cathode to the other electrode. When liquid to be treated that has had the flow thereof adjusted is made to flow through the device for killing microorganisms, hypochlorous acid is diffused throughout the entire device by a stirring action that is generated between the counter electrodes, enabling a high effect to be obtained.
