Abstract:

A supply device (1) is provided with an advancing device (5) which advances materials (3a, 3b) having a band-like or linear shape, a holding device (14) which temporarily holds the following material (3b), and a sensor (19) which detects the end of the leading material (3a). While the leading material (3a) is advanced by the advancing device (5), the holding device (14) holds the following material (3b) and waits at a position away from the advancing device (5). When the sensor (19) detects the rear end of the leading material (3a), the holding device (14) moves toward the advancing device (5) and supplies the following material (3b) to the advancing device (5). When the advancing device (5) starts to advance the following material (3b), the holding device (14) releases the following material (3b). Thus, the following material (3b) is supplied following the leading material (3a).
