Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a dilator with which, when dilation of an orifice in a subject is completed, a point in time of the completion of the dilation is ascertained accurately. The dilator 1 includes a hollow shaft 11 having: a tapered portion 111 having a tip, the outer diameter of which is smaller than the outer diameter of a base end thereof; and a body portion 112 having a tip located at a base end 111b of the tapered portion 111, and provided to extend in the axial direction toward the base end of the tapered portion 111. Spiral protrusions 21 are provided on an outer peripheral surface 111A of the tapered portion 111. The spiral protrusions 21 have a gap 21a therebetween in the axial direction of the shaft 11. A base end 21b of the spiral protrusions 21 is located at the base end 111b of the tapered portion 111.
