Abstract:
A diphenylsquarylium compound which gives a light transmittance curve having a sharp minimum in the wavelength region of 550 to 610 nm and which, when incorporated in a display filter, does not cause a decrease in display brightness. The diphenylsquarylium compound is represented by the following general formula (I).
