Abstract:
Provided is an elastic wave device which is capable of achieving downsizing and in which degradation of properties is not likely to occur. An elastic wave device 1 is configured such that: a first IDT electrode 7 and a second IDT electrode 8 are provided on a first main surface 6a and a second main surface 6b of a piezoelectric layer 6, respectively; the first IDT electrode 7 has first and second electrode fingers 11b, 12b; the second IDT electrode 8 has third and fourth electrode fingers 13b, 14b; the first electrode fingers 11b and the second electrode fingers 12b have portions overlapped with the fourth electrode fingers 14b and the third electrode fingers 13b, respectively, with the piezoelectric layer 6 interposed therebetween; and the first electrode fingers 11b and the second electrode fingers 12b have reverse polarity potentials to the fourth electrode fingers 14b and the third electrode fingers 13b, respectively.
