Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: an electric slide fastener system that is able to operate properly in accordance with the state of an electric slider; and a method for controlling the electric slide fastener. [Solution] An electric slide fastener system (10) is characterized in that: a slider (6) includes a control unit (7); the control unit (7) is supplied with power from a power source (60); and the control unit (7) has a drive unit (91) that moves the slider (6) with respect to a slide fastener chain (1), a closure detection sensor (75) that detects whether the slider (6) has reached a closing end position at which element strips (30) are closed up, an opening detection sensor (76) that detects whether the slider (6) has reached an opening end position at which the element strips (30) are opened up, and a control section (80) that stops driving of the drive unit (91) in a case when the closure detection sensor (75) has detected closing of the element strips (30) or in a case when the opening detection sensor (76) has detected opening of the element strips (30).
