Abstract:
Provided are an electrode active material for an all-solid state rechargeable battery and an all-solid state rechargeable battery provided with the electrode active material, wherein the orientation of a crystal face in the interface between an electrode layer and an electrolyte layer can be controlled in order to enhance battery performance. The electrode active material for an all-solid state rechargeable battery is made from a carbon material. The intensity ratio (P002/P100) for the X-ray diffraction peak intensity (P002) in the (002) face and the X-ray diffraction peak intensity (P100) in the (100) faceis less than or equal to 600, said X-ray diffraction peak intensity (P002) in the (002) face and X-ray diffraction peak intensity (P100) in the (100) face being obtained when an X ray is irradiated onto the surface of a molded body formed by compression molding the powder of a carbon material at a pressure of 110 MPa. The all-solid state rechargeable battery is provided with a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a solid electrolyte, and the negative electrode includes the electrode active material for an all-solid state rechargeable battery having the feature described above.
