Abstract:
Provided is an electrode material, in which an iridium species is used in a reduced amount, and which can exhibit a high activity for use as a catalyst for an anode in a water electrolysis cell and has excellent durability. An electrode material for a solid polymer water electrolysis cell is provided, which is characterized by having a structure that Ir and/or an oxide thereof and at least one noble metal selected from Ru, Rh and Pd and/or an oxide thereof are supported on a titanium suboxide support that is configured such that any peak other than a peak corresponding to Ti4O7 and/or Ti3O5 is not observed in powder X-ray diffraction.
