Abstract:
The purpose of the present disclosure is to provide an emergency request device and emergency request method that make it possible for appropriate emergency care to be performed when the state of an operator has become abnormal. This emergency request device comprises: a rescue appeal unit that, when an abnormal state has been detected for an operator of a vehicle, makes a rescue appeal for the operator to an external emergency center; and an emergency care request unit that, on the basis of instructions from the emergency center, requests emergency care for the operator from a passenger of the vehicle or a third party that is in the environs of the vehicle.
