Abstract:
An endoscope equipped with: a bending section, which is provided in an inserted section to be inserted inside a subject and which bends in multiple directions; multiple joint pieces (20a-20n), which configure the bending section, each of which is formed in a ring-shape, and for which the central axis (C) is positioned along the longitudinal direction (N) of the inserted section and pieces that are adjacent to each other in the longitudinal direction (N) are connected via a pivoting axis (18); and wire brackets (40la-40uf), which are provided on the inner circumferential surface or outer circumferential surface of at least one joint piece among the multiple joint pieces (20a-20n) and through which a wire (30l) for bending the bending section is inserted. The direction of wire (30l) insertion in the wire brackets (40la-40uf) is at a slant with respect to the central axis (C).
