Abstract:
The surface layer formation method aims to form an outstanding erosion resistant film, and comprises a step in which a member (2) is placed inside a working fluid (3) and a step in which an Si electrode (1) is formed at a prescribed distance from the member (2), a prescribed voltage is applied to generate an electrical discharge so as to supply an Si component from the Si electrode (1) toward the member, and a Si-containing surface layer is formed. A discharge pulse, wherein the time integral value of the discharge pulse is in the range of 30 A·µs-80 A·µs, is generated repeatedly to form an iron-based metal structure with an Si content of 3-11 wt% and a thickness of 5-10 µm.
