Abstract:
The present invention makes it possible to reduce failure recovery time for service chaining. A failure recovery control method for a communication device in a communication system comprising the communication device, which is located at each site and includes a plurality of virtual network functions used for service chaining, and at least one higher-level device which is located in a data center connected to the communication device at the site via a network, and which manages the virtual network functions of the communication device at each site and service chaining. At least some of functionality implemented in the higher-level device for modifying service chaining for the communication device at the site is deployed in the communication device at the site, so that, in the event of failure in the communication device at the site, the communication device can autonomously reassemble the service chaining and recover from the failure.
