Abstract:

Provided is a fixing device that is capable of stably applying a fixing fluid, sprayed from each of a plurality of nozzles, onto a sheet even if the sheet is electrostatically charged. The fixing device 9 comprises a nozzle unit 9A and a counter electrode 9B. The nozzle unit 9A sprays the fixing fluid on to a sheet S having a toner image formed thereupon. The counter electrode 9B is positioned apart from the nozzle unit 9A. Voltage is applied to the counter electrode 9B. The counter electrode 9B has a first flat plate 31 and a plurality of first protrusions 32. The first flat plate 31 extends in a first direction. The plurality of protrusions 32 extend from the first flat plate 31 in a second direction that is from the counter electrode 9B towards the nozzle unit 9A. The plurality of first protrusions 32 are lined up along the first direction.
