Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a fluid processing cartridge having a plurality of liquid storage tanks, a channel switching means, and channels between the respective liquid storage tanks and the channel switching means. The channel switching means includes a rotor and a cylinder on which the rotor is able to slide while the inner circumferential surface and the outer circumferential surface of the rotor remain in very close contact with each other. The rotor has, on the outer circumferential surface thereof, at least one groove enabling a plurality of channel ports in the cylinder to communicate by rotation or translation of the rotor, and/or the rotor has at least one through-hole enabling a plurality of channel ports in the cylinder to communicate by rotation or translation of the rotor. The present invention is a method for recovering and amplifying nucleic acid using this cartridge. The present invention provides a cartridge and a method for recovering and amplifying nucleic acid, in which nucleic acid recovered from a specimen can be amplified and detected, and a device can be made more compact, involving a simple liquid-conveying means.
