Disclosed is a franchise menu item ordering system and method using bi-directional communication. The system comprises: a user mobile terminal for inputting and transmitting a franchise menu item order that a user wants to place in a franchise store; and a store POS terminal for receiving and accepting the franchise menu item order from the user mobile terminal, wherein the user mobile terminal is configured to perform payment for the franchise menu item order. According to the present invention, the franchise menu item ordering system and method using bi-directional communication is configured to enable a user to order a menu item and make payment in a corresponding franchise store by simply holding a smartphone close to an RF signal generator provided on a table of the franchise store, so that there is no inconvenience of waiting in line at a counter or kiosk, and payment or ordering can be also very convenient and easy.
