Title:
GAS SENSOR AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/182010
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a gas sensor having a structure which alleviates thermal stresses and is resistant to heat cycling, and which can be used stably for an extended period of time. As a means for achieving this objective, gaps D1 to D6 are formed between edge portions of electrodes 12a, 12b disposed on an element body 10 and ridge lines at which element faces adjoin one another, in an oxygen sensor 1 for detecting an oxygen concentration on the basis of a current value or a resistance value when a voltage is applied. Since these gaps serve as clearance portions for expansion and contraction of the electrode material accompanying thermal expansion and contraction of the sensor body, thermal stress concentrations in edge parts of the element body 10 are eliminated, making it possible to alleviate thermal stress in the oxygen sensor. The generation of cracks in the element can thus be suppressed, and the sensor can be used stably for an extended period of time.
