Abstract:
Provided is a gas sensor with high detection sensitivity and low output signal noise. The gas sensor (102) is provided with a thermistor ceramic laminate (10), a catalyst electrode (11) that configures the catalyst electrode, an internal electrode (12) and external electrodes (13, 14). The catalyst electrode (11) produces heat by a gas to be sensed contacting the catalyst electrode (11), and the resistance value of the thermistor layer in the sensing part drops. The heat from the catalyst electrode (11) is transmitted directly to the thermistor layer without passing through an insulating layer or the like, so detection sensitivity is high. When configured so that heat from the sensing part is insulated by a hollow part (15) and dispersion is prevented, the thermal capacity of the sensing part will be even smaller. Thus, the gas sensor has high sensitivity and high responsiveness.
