Abstract:

This gate driving device, which performs on/off control by applying a gate driving signal to a gate driven semiconductor switching element by means of a drive circuit, comprises: a determination circuit (30, 30a, 30b, 30c) that determines the short-circuit state of the semiconductor switching element by detecting the voltage between main terminals of the semiconductor switching element and increasing the voltage between the main terminals during ON driving; and a control circuit (20) that shuts off the semiconductor switching element when the determination circuit determinates that the semiconductor switching element is in a short-circuit state.
