Abstract:
Disclosed is an insulated electric wire having sufficient flame retardance, wear resistance, flexibility and workability, while exhibiting excellent cooperativeness with halogen-containing materials. Specifically disclosed is an insulated electric wire wherein the outer surface of a conductor is covered with an inner layer and an outermost layer. The outermost layer has a thickness of 10-100 μm, and is composed of a composition containing at least one PE having an average density of not less than 0.91 g/cm3. The inner layer is composed of a composition containing 100 parts by weight of a resin component including a PE (A) having an MFR of not more than 5 g/10 min and a density of not less than 0.90 g/cm3, and one or more polymers (B) selected from an &agr -olefin (co)polymer (B1), an ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer (B2), an ethylene-&agr ,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid alkyl ester copolymer (B3) and a styrene elastomer (B4); 30-250 parts by weight of a metal hydrate (C) and 1-20 parts by weight of a zinc-containing compound (D). The resin component contains 30-90% by weight of the component (A) and 70-10% by weight of the component (B). At least one polymer of the component (B) is acid-modified and/or the composition further contains 0.3-10 parts by weight of an organic functional coupling agent (E).
