Abstract:
Provided is an image decoding apparatus which decodes an encoded moving image having a large block without increasing the circuit scale thereof. The image decoding apparatus (10) includes a block splitting section (11) for splitting a block to be decoded, the block being included in a picture of the encoded moving image, into a plurality of divided blocks; an image data capture section (12) which captures, for each of the divided blocks, image data associated with the divided block from a recording medium (20); a prediction section (13) which creates, for each of the divided blocks, a predicted image of the divided block on the basis of the image data captured by the image data capture section (12); and a reconfiguration section (14) which reconfigures, for each of the divided blocks, the divided block by adding the predicted image created for the divided block to the divided block.
