The present invention is provided with: a development container (32) to which a supplement container (40) can be detachably attached and which has an accommodating part (36) for accommodating a developing agent, a supplement port (32a) for supplementing the developing agent from the supplement container (40) to the accommodating part (36); a stirring member (34) that stirs the developing agent accommodated in the accommodating part (36); an opening/closing member (83) that is movable between a closed position at which the supplement port (32a) is covered so that the supplement container (40) cannot be attached to the development container (32) and an open position at which the supplement port (32a)is exposed so that the supplement container (40) can be attached to the development container (32); a driving source (M1) for driving the stirring member (34); and a control means (90) for controlling the driving source (M1). The present invention is configured such that: when the opening/closing member (83) is at the closed position, an image can be formed; when the opening/closing member (83) is at the open position, an image cannot be formed; and when the opening/closing member (83) is at the open position, the stirring member (34) can be driven.
