An image processing device that merges a plurality of images in order to generate an image with a broad field of view, the plurality of images being captured by a plurality of image capture devices so as to form an overlap portion where image capture regions coincide with each other. The image processing device includes an acquisition section that acquires images captured by the plurality of image capture devices, a virtual viewpoint setting section that sets at least one virtual viewpoint corresponding to the overlap portion, an interpolated image generation section that generates an image from the perspective of the virtual viewpoint set by the virtual viewpoint setting section by interpolating from the images captured by the plurality of image capture devices, and a stitching section that stitches together an interpolated image generated by the interpolated image generation section and portions other than the overlap portion of the images captured by the plurality of image capture devices.
