Abstract:
To provide an image processing system in which a calculation amount is reduced when calculating a parallax difference using stereo photography images. In image processing, image data photographed by each of a plurality of cameras 2 for stereo photography is shrunk to generate a shrunk image in which the number of pixels of the image data has been decreased. Image data photographed by a camera 2 and shrunk image data in which the image data has been shrunk are stored in a memory 7. A parallax difference is determined by comparing a plurality of shrunk image data photographed at the same time. A parallax difference calculation region is set, said region including the same position as a region in which the parallax difference was detected for the shrunk image data among a plurality of image data which were photographed at the same time as the shrunk image data. In the parallax difference calculation region of image data before shrinking, a parallax difference is calculated. This parallax difference is set as the parallax difference of the image data before shrinking.
