Abstract:
Provided is an information processing device with which it can be more accurately determined, as compared to the prior art, whether a vehicle has moved close to an embarking/disembarking point, and/or whether a vehicle has moved away from an embarking/disembarking point. This information processing device is to be installed in a vehicle, and the information processing device: associates and stores the latitude and longitude of a first point and the latitude and longitude of a second point in identification information for identifying an embarking/disembarking point; and uses the latitude and longitude of the vehicle detected using GPS and the latitude and longitude of the first and second points to determine whether the vehicle has moved close to the embarking/disembarking point and/or whether the vehicle has moved away from the embarking/disembarking point. The latitude and longitude of the first point are a latitude and longitude of a point located on a pathway of approach to the embarking/disembarking point at which there are no objects which would obstruct the position detection using GPS, or at which the influence of such obstructing objects is less than that of the embarking/disembarking point. The latitude and longitude of the second point are a latitude and longitude of a point located on a pathway of departure from the embarking/disembarking point at which there are no objects which would obstruct the position detection using GPS, or at which the influence of such obstructing objects is less than that of the embarking/disembarking point.
