Abstract:

If a pre-configured permission condition is satisfied in a state in which the vehicle has been stopped by the driver operating the brake, then the engine is automatically stopped; and if the permission condition is not satisfied in the state in which the vehicle has been stopped by operation of the brake, then the driver is notified of support information for how to satisfy the permission condition. While the driver is being notified of the support information, if vehicle stop-maintaining control is being exerted for generating a braking force that can maintain the stopped state of the vehicle even if brake operation is reduced, then notification of the support information is ceased if it is determined that the driver does not wish the engine to be automatically stopped.
