Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an intra-aortic balloon catheter that can measure fluctuations in blood pressure inside an aorta with high precision. [Solution] This intra-aortic balloon catheter 1 includes: a pressure sensor 8 that can measure pressure using light; an optical fiber 9 that is connected to the pressure sensor 8; and a distal tip 5 in which are formed a sensor- accommodating hole 514, which accommodates the pressure sensor 8, and a through hole 56, which is connected to the sensor accommodating hole 514 and through which the optical fiber 9 is passed. The distal tip 5 has filling holes 511-513 formed therein, one end of each of which is open at the outer peripheral surface of the distal tip 5, with the other ends thereof being connected to the through hole 56, and with the filling holes making it possible to fill a resin 14 inside the through hole 56.
