Abstract:
The purpose of the invention is to prevent malfunctioning regions from being created by the breakage of linear electrodes and also reduce unevenness in luminance in cases of constructing a light-modulating film by FFS. Disclosed is a light-modulating film 10 wherein a liquid crystal layer 14 is sandwiched by first and second laminates 13, 12 and wherein transmitted light is controlled by controlling the orientation of liquid crystal molecules 14A in the liquid crystal layer 14. In the first laminate 13, a transparent electrode 22A, an insulating layer 23, and linear electrodes 22B are formed sequentially on one surface of a transparent substrate 21A, and a bridge that controls the orientation of the liquid crystal molecules 14A by an electric field between the transparent electrode 22A and the linear electrodes 22B of the first laminate 13 and that short-circuits adjacent linear electrodes 22B is provided.
