Abstract:
The present invention provides a machine tool for which the machine width can be reduced while ensuring the opening width is the minimum required. A machine tool 1 comprises, on a front wall 11 of a cover 3, a primary door 21 and a secondary door 22. The primary door 21 and the secondary door 22 open/close an opening provided to the front wall 11. The primary door 21 and the secondary door 22 are of a double-opening type; the primary door 21 moves on the right side of the opening 20 and the secondary door 22 moves on the left side of the opening 20. An operation panel 15 is attached to the right side of the opening 20 on the front wall 11. Therefore, the opening 20 is shifted to the left from the widthwise center of the front wall 11. When the opening 20 is opened/closed, the length of the secondary door 22 in the direction of movement is half the length of the primary door 21 in the direction of movement. Consequently, even if the area on the left side of the opening 20 is narrow, the secondary door 22 can be positioned in the area on the left side by moving the secondary door 22 by half the amount of movement according to the movement of the primary door 21.
