Abstract:
This marine engine is provided with: an air control unit that supplies compressed air into a combustion chamber during a piston upstroke after a crash astern signal has been outputted (time t2); a fuel control unit that stops the supply of fuel into the combustion chamber after the crash astern signal has been outputted, and resumes supply of fuel after a crankshaft has been reversely rotated (time t3); and a compression ratio control unit that, when the crash astern signal has been outputted and the top dead-center position of the piston is located closer to the bottom dead-center position side with respect to the preset position (time tc), moves the top dead-center position to a side opposed to the bottom dead-center position.
