Abstract:
The present invention pertains to an Au-Pt–Pd alloy for medical applications, comprising Au, Pt, Pd, and unavoidable impurities. This alloy has an alloy composition inside a polygon (A1–A2–A3–A4) encased by straight lines between points A1 (53 at.% Au, 4 at.% Pt, 43 at.% Pd), A2 (70 at.% Au, 4 at.% Pt, 26 at.% Pd), A3 (69.9 at.% Au, 30 at.% Pt, 0.1 at.% Pd), and A4 (49.9 at.% Au, 50 at.% Pt, 0.1 at.% Pd) in an Au-Pt-Pd ternary phase diagram. In addition, at least either an Au rich phase or a Pt rich phase are distributed in the metal composition of this alloy. The total area ratio of the Au rich phase and Pt rich phase is 1.5%–25.4%.
