Title:
MENISCUS REGENERATION MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/071208
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a meniscus regeneration material having a high capacity to regenerate the meniscus. This meniscus regeneration material contains a protein (A). The protein (A) has a polypeptide chain (Y) and/or a polypeptide chain (Y'). The total number of polypeptide chains (Y) and/or polypeptide chains (Y') in the protein (A) is 1 to 100. The polypeptide chain (Y) is a polypeptide chain having 2 to 200 contiguous copies of at least one amino acid sequence (X) selected from the amino acid sequences VPGVG (1) represented by SEQ ID NO:1, GVGVP (4) represented by SEQ ID NO:4, GPP, GAP, and GAHGPAGPK (3) represented by SEQ ID NO:3. The polypeptide chain (Y') is a polypeptide chain where not more than 5% of the amino acid residues of the polypeptide chain (Y) are substituted with lysine and/or arginine residues. The total number of the lysine and/or arginine residues is 1 to 100. The total proportion of β-turn structures and random coil structures in the protein (A) as determined by circular dichroism spectroscopy is 60%-85%. The total number of the amino acid residues constituting the amino acid sequence (X) and the amino acid residues constituting an amino acid sequence (X') relative to the total amino acid residues in the protein (A) is 50%-70%, wherein the amino acid sequence (X') is an amino acid sequence where not more than 60% of the amino acid residues of the amino acid sequence (X) are substituted with lysine and/or arginine residues.
