Abstract:
A solvent in which beads have been dispersed is introduced into a flow path, and the beads are housed in a well formed in the upper part of the flow path. In a method for detecting a biological substance detection according to one embodiment of the present invention, when a microwell (2) comprising a recess capable of housing microbeads (3) is formed, a space between a base-material portion (6) where the opening side of the microwell (2) faces downward and a cover portion (9) disposed on the opening side of the microwell (2) so as to face the base-material portion (6) is used as a flow path (8), a hydrophilic solvent (4) in which microbeads (3) have been dispersed is introduced into the flow path (8), and the microbeads (3) are housed in the microwell (2), the specific gravity of the hydrophilic solvent (4) is set greater than the specific gravity of the microbeads (3). The microbeads (3) are in a state suspended in the hydrophilic solvent (4), the microbeads (3) being positioned in the upper part inside the flow path (8) and therefore being housed in the microwell (2) upon reaching a position opposite the microwell (2) formed in the upper surface of the flow path (8).
