Title:
METHOD FOR DETECTING BIOMOLECULES USING A CAPACITIVE TOUCH SCREEN
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/115349
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for detecting biomolecules using a capacitive touch screen in which the contact of a conductor is received as an input signal and outputted on a display screen. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method for detecting target biomolecules by applying electrically conductive biomolecules to a touch panel and sensing variations in capacitance at the surface of the touch panel which occur depending on the concentration of biomolecules. The method for detecting biomolecules according to the present invention employs a capacitive touch screen which can be mass-produced and which is thus inexpensive. Thus, the method of the present invention enables inexpensive analysis that takes a short amount of time as compared to conventional methods, which require a large volume and expensive and exclusive light-absorptive or fluorescent analysis devices, special experiment techniques such as electrophoresis, or a long analysis time, and which thus may be performed only in a laboratory having access to experts and special facilities. The method of the present invention may enable the easy detection of biomolecules in personal terminal devices such as a smartphone and a tablet PC fitted with a capacitive touch screen.
