Abstract:
The invention relates to a method implementing video conference screen sharing. The method is characterized by: installing, on a terminal having a screen to be shared, a dedicated screen sharing module performing SVC encoding on a video image to be shared to generate a SVC sharing video stream; and transmitting, by the dedicated screen sharing module, and to a video conference server, the SVC sharing video stream. The video conference server can directly forward to a terminal of another video conference participant, a received SVC sharing video stream, without encoding or decoding the SVC sharing video stream. In comparison to the prior art, the invention has the advantage of being simple in operation. The video conference server is not required to decode or encode a received sharing video stream, and is only required to forward to terminals of other video conference participants the received sharing video stream, being light in load, and causing no processing delay.
