Abstract:
The present invention relates to a security apparatus for inspecting a packet using secure sockets layer (SSL) communication. If a security apparatus detects a client terminal, connected to a network device, accessing a website that uses secure sockets layer communication, a secure sockets layer session is established between the security apparatus and the website by means of a certificate of the website, and a secure sockets layer session between the client terminal and the security apparatus is established by means of a private certificate generated using the certificate of the website. And when a packet transmitted to the website is received from the client terminal, the packet is decoded by means of a session key of the client terminal, an inspection is performed on whether or not transmission for the decoded packet is granted, and, if the transmission is possible in accordance with the inspection result on whether or not the transmission for the decoded packet is granted, the decoded packet is encoded by means of a session key of the security apparatus and can be transmitted to the website.
