Abstract:
The present invention comprises: a first optical communication device having an optical fiber that includes a plurality of cores formed in parallel to the longitudinal direction, an optical transmission unit, and an optical reception unit, with connection ends of the optical transmission and optical reception units being provided on an interface surface, each of said connection ends being connected to the one end of one of the cores; and a second optical communication device having an optical transmission unit and an optical reception unit, with connection ends of the optical transmission and optical reception units being provided on an interface surface, each of said connection ends being connected to the other end of one of the cores. The connection ends are provided such that the transmission/reception types of connection ends of the first optical communication device and the transmission/reception types of connection ends of the second optical communication device are in a sequence of transmission/reception pairs, the connection ends being in a line-symmetrical positional relationship with respect to a line perpendicular to a horizontal plane when the first and second optical communication devices are installed on the horizontal plane such that the interface surfaces of the first and second optical communication devices face forward.
